Almost Flawless Grail Gun
Came home with me today...Model 41...7 3/8 barrel, all tools, weights, 2 mags, papers, and box. Another grail gun is realized. Late 1950's - early 1960's gun....If you can narrow it down a bit for me I would appreciate it.
A Schofield and now this June has been a VERY good month.

WE would have to know the serial no' of this gun which is really nice shape in order to date it for you. Not all the no's are needed but give us the 1st 4 at least please to go on. Thank You for posting the pic as well.

Hi Bob again I suspect somewhere in the area of 1971-1972 this gun was produced. Looks like it really has been looked after Good catch for you indeed.

Model 41, Blue, 7 ⅜ in, 419XX was shipped in February 1963
Model 41, Blue, 7 ⅜ in, 466XX was shipped in December 1963
Looks like 45980 could be 1963 vintage.

Looking at the box, accessories and the pistol itself. you've truly made an excellent find. Now take it out and shoot it. Don't forget to use standard velocity ammo.... Enjoy.

A very nice score. Now get a buffer for it and see what it likes. My slightly later model prefers CCI Blazer.

I would recommend CCI SV ammo 1st and then the blazer brand. Both are made by CCI. Wolf will work quite well also but usually is more expensive to buy

Bottom line is to try whatever you can afford to buy in bulk, because you will be shooting it a lot with its favorite ammo. I lucked out when my pistols favored Blazer. I pray you are as fortunate.
