Nice heads up Ascension, but FYI these have been in stock at Midway continuously for months and months now. I guess you never checked back on this thread from the Spring: Updating my info and took a group shot of most of my 3rd gens tonight.

Had it set up on Midway, Brownell and Numrich to be notified when those were back in stock but Midway never responded when they got them. Just had ordered a few springs + a couple other parts last week from Brownell for some of my other 3rd gens and a couple others and they were still not listing any of the CS9 springs. Missed the Midway note on that thread bro had puter issues been up and down + a mother in hospital so---.
My son found them yesterday when he ordered a recoil spring for his 4043 and hit me with a text. I just got a chance to order then post today.
Will be nice to FINALLY get the little CS 9 back in carry rotation when they get here!

Yeah, I don't trust those auto-alert deals. I check stock at Midway on a daily basis for 3rd Gen parts, part of my daily routine.

Glad to hear you'll be able to get your CS9 back in the lineup again. I wasted the whole first Summer of owning my CS9 waiting on Midway to get these recoil springs back in stock, then finally called S&W and they had them out in the mail to me that week. Too bad the Summer was over, but it did give me plenty of time to make some Delrin grips over the Winter.

Now my CS9 has it's own IWB holster and is in the rotation, finally!

Yep. But one good thing about this thread. It reminded me that I need to order a few before they do disappear, possibly forever. Seems that I've successfully acquired multiple spares for every other 3rd Gen I own... except for the CS9's. How the heck did I let that happen?

Wish i had the Delrins on mine! HATE the feel of Hogues and just got rid of the set on my 1066 in favor of the stock S&W delrins. Now need to do something about those nasty grips on the CS 9!!

I like the modified Delrins on the CS9 waaay more than the rubber Hogues, but that's also my preference for all handguns. Hogue rubbers feel nice in hand, but are sticky when I don't want them to be (clothing), and not when I need them to be (sweaty palms). Delrin grips are thinner and I can stick grip / skateboard tape on them to anchor the gun in my hand.

I went through a small pile of 3913 grips learning how to make these ones for the CS9 correctly. If you want to try it out, I would recommend studying this thread (CS9 Grip Mod, Parts Assembly) and buying a spare grip or two to re-start if things go bad.

Someone else had expressed interest in a set, and I am currently collecting the parts to make a small batch of these grips to put up for sale. If all goes well, I should have some ready in a few weeks or so.

These are a nice third option. Grippier than the delrins and much thinner than the Hogues,...wood or rubber.

Thanks for the heads-up on the springs. I had spare recoil springs covered for every model except the CS9,....until now.

Got my springs today and it's another world with the CS9!
Before the guide rod would pertrude out the front of the slide and the pistol at times would not go fully into battery.
You can see this in this group shot with some of my 3rd gens CS 9 is bottom right.

Now it's all back to normal.

Funny how the wrong spring caused the guide to protrude out the end of the slide like that ain't it??

Good to see that issue was also fixed with the correct recoil spring, I thought your gunsmith put a different guide rod in!

Nope it was that spring we tried to make. The original spring was done and the pistol was not returning to battery as it should. The spring we used was a 17lb spring from a Glock 17 cut down but would not work. It would stack before it would allow the slide to lock back when cut to the correct length but if cut shorter would not return the slide to battery when you chambered a round. It also resulted in the guide rod protruding from the slide why is a?? The correct recoil spring cured all the ills and she ran flawlessly today at the range.

I would guess that the 'bubba' spring you guys were making got too short to keep the guide rod in place, which is why it was sticking out and your gun wouldn't go back into battery.

My thoughts also had no choice at the time but to try. Nice that I now have the right springs ( bought 3 1 to go in now and 2 as spares.). Gun shoots SO much smoother now!!!
