Drive the sights out left-right (or towards the ejection port), and install the new sight right-left. Front sight should just be a friction fit if it's still the factory setup, and will probably be pretty tight. I put my slide in a vise with thin strips of leather on each side, then shape the end of a brass punch to square it off and size it to the sight base. Then I use a 50oz deadblow hammer to drive the sights out & in (taking care with the night sight not to hit so hard that the tritium vial breaks). You can also use a sight pusher for this.
I would agree that the Trijicon SA24 front sight would be the sight to use. You can order a night sight from Smith&Wesson or elsewhere online, but you may receive an older-production sight from them (Midway is known for doing this). Sights glow for about 12 years after the production date (last 2 digits stamped on Trijicon night sights). Good idea to ask for the date of production before you order from a vendor, and if they won't tell you, be cautious.
