SW22 Victory with Tandemkross Trigger and Halo
Installed the Tandemkross trigger and added the Halo slide "ring". Went to the range to test the trigger. This was the third trip to the range with the SW22, and to say the least I am impressed with the accuracy and ease of firing this jewel. The trigger is absolutely amazing...eliminated the pre-travel and the over travel has been set to my liking. Trigger pull has been reduced, but without a gauge I can't testify to amount, but it was certainly noticeable. The inexpensive TruGlo reflex sight has held zero through 3 range trips and 2 complete disassembly and cleanings. For those concerned about removing the receiver or barrel with a reflex sight mounted....no issue!
I do want to add that installing the Tandemkross trigger is easy, and they have an installation video on their website which makes installing the trigger easy. The trigger DOES NOT install the same way as the stock trigger.

"Easy" install is definitely relative. I lost the small spring after fussing with it for a couple hours+ (you will notice on their video that Jake says it is fussy, then the video fast fwds to it already done, i.e. skips how long it took their expert to do it. LOL).
Tandemkross is sending another, no charge (great company to work with!). She laughed when I told her the issue, I was clearly not the first. Also, they are in process of redoing the spacer for the trigger do reduce the play/wobble. I am on their list to get one, then will let my LGS put it back together.

OK, you asked. Here's some pictures. I still don't know how to add a picture rather than a thumbnail.

As far as an easy install, I found it easy because I used a cup tip punch to hold down the plunger and spring. This is the same punch used to drive pins out of frames without damaging the frame. Easy

I'm thinking about stalling the halo, but I'm not a competitive shooter at all. Do you think it's necessary or a waste of money? By the way, I'm female...in my 30's...and new shooter, but former athlete so things comes easy for me...in case you were wondering. Lol. Thanks for your input.

Is it necessary...NO. Is it desirable.....YES. It makes charging the bolt much easier with a more positive "grip" by placing your finger inside the halo vs trying to grab the bolt with two fingers on the cocking serrations. YMMV. But in my opinion, money well spent.

I am a competitive steel shooter with my 22 Victory. I found the Halo a must-have. When shooting a string as fast as I can, a jam or fail to fire needs to be cleared ASAP. The stock bolt will slip off your fingers but the Halo is quick.
FYI I installed the HALO as tight as I thought reasonable and locktited the screw. Eventually, the Halo worked loose and slid down on the bolt. The screw was still firm but the Halo itself lost some tension. Easy to re-tighten but you need to be aware.

Yesterday, in preparation for todays range trip I installed the Volquartsen Exact Edge extractor. Why? Because it was only $16 Exact Edge Extractor for SW22 | Volquartsen Firearms
For what it's worth, I never had any extractor issues with the stock one, and as expected, the Volquartsen extractor performed just fine.

Quick question, How does your finger feel after shooting a few hundred rounds with the rough finish of the trigger? Seems most flat blades are smooth nowadays.

I have the Victory textured trigger on my Ruger 22/45. I made my choice to go with the textured surface rather than the smooth based on the opinions of the Beta Testers who tried both triggers in their guns. If I remember right 75% of the testers preferred the textured triggers because it helped prevent finger shift that occurred on the smooth triggers. (ie. repeat-ability)
In my opinion the face of the trigger is rough enough to prevent slippage but not to much so as to dig into your finger. I personally remember one of my S&W revolver triggers that was ribbed being so irritating that I took an Arkansas Stone to it to knock the sharp edges off. The Victory trigger is a great design and has excellent workmanship. Customer care is as good as it gets from TK also.

I'll put it this way. I will NOT purchase another .22 rim fire pistol unless TK makes their "Victory" trigger for it. Wish they made one for a 1911. bob

I must have missed this thread when I posted my separate review of the TandemKross trigger and Halo. My error.
Conclusion: I very much like both of these accessories as well !
I'm planning on getting some replacement grips. I'll probably give that a while longer so more different versions have a chance to be introduced. I'm liking these oak ones with a thumb rest the best so far:
S&W Victory Grips with Thumb rest Oak Colored by BullseyeGrips
But I'll wait a bit to see what else comes out. The Volquartsen grips look nice, but they also look bigger than the OEM grips, and bigger is the last thing I need. Plus, the Volquartsen grips are really expensive for what they are (mass produced apparently, with some fit problems reportedly).
Note in my picture that the fiber part of my front sight has gone AWOL. It decided to skip town during some shooting session. I didn't notice right away, until I got home to clean the gun, since I don't use the front sight with the Vortex red-dot that I have installed. S&W is sending me a new front sight at no cost.

USPSA shooters have been using fiber optic sights for years. It's normal for the front fiber to leave the gun. I had one go recently in the middle of a steel run...messes my karma up. Buy extra fiber of your choice and keep in shooting bag.

Well I should have not commented! I was shooting this AM in an IPSC-style match when my front sight fiber disappeared. Oh well....

I'd measure that front fiber diameter with my calipers to see what I need to order for backup, except I can't find the fiber to measure it!
I'll wait until S&W sends the replacement sight and measure the fiber first thing.
This should be a trivial engineering problem for S&W and other manufacturers to solve. But I guess they haven't found it financially worthwhile yet. Maybe if enough people call in when their fibers go AWOL, accept no excuse and demand a replacement sight, they'll do something. You wouldn't think having your front sight fall apart would be considered normal wear and tear, to be handled at the customers expense.
