I'm having trouble finding info on dating my S &W 9mm 910. Serial number VJD4xxx. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I’ve never seen a publication with a list. Most just contact S&W. If it’s any help, the one I inherited from my dad has a VJJ number and was supposedly new in 2003.

Welcome from the Ozarks of S/W Missouri -via- Chicago.
Your S&W 910 Value series was produced from 1995-2006.

With the first number being a 4, that number I've heard is the year made. If made from 1995-2006, mine would have to be a 2004. Does that sound correct?

A phone call to S&W might be the way to find the year your 910 was built.

The Standard Catalog of S&W indicates VJA maybe have been manufactured in 1997. We could guess yours to be around that age.

Do you have the original box? The SPEC ORD number on the label is a julian date with the first number being the year.

If it's any help, I have a CS9s with a SN of VJD5xxx. It was made in October of 2002. Which isn't dispositive, but might give you and idea of when it was made.

Customer Service will be able to tell you if you call them.

I was going to make a joke that I never dated a 910, but did go out several times with a 5906. A nice guy, but terrible on the dance floor.
Thinking about the post, I decided no one here wanted any of my stale jokes.

It wouldn't be a proper forum without some jokes. Thanks for the info so far.

Last week someone asked me where I was born. I told them in the hospital.

Tonight I was talking to a lovely young lady and someone asked her her birthday. She told him and he asked "What year?" I looked at him and said, "Every year."

Yeah, I sold my one "VJD" gun last year, but as I recall, it was shipped in that 2002-2003 time frame.
