Big $$$ For My 5906
Today, my son and I wanted to visit an indoor range. We went to one in Baton Rouge that was very big and very nice. I live in the country so, the automated target stops/carriers were a luxury.
My son just bought a new Ruger American .45 and wanted to test drive it. Boy, let me tell you, that thing sure is a tack driver!
I brought my Ruger 9E, 5906, and my SD9VE. My son had not shot my 5906 since member BMCM had bead blasted and cleaned it up.
Another member came over to my son and asked what 3rd Gen it was. He told him a 5906, and it was not for sale, very politely. He said it looked new from where he was standing when he spotted it and wanted to offer me $400 at first , and by the time he was all done with offers, his last one was $550. He gave me a business card and said if I ever wanted to sell it to give him a call.

You should've given him the BMCM business card!

If I had a BMCM Custom 5906, I wouldn't sell it for triple that offer!

Im still hoping that BMCM gets an FFL and hangs out a shingle. I have much work for him. As Im sure others here do as well.
He would probably need a wheelbarrow to carry around the money he would make. Regards 18DAI

Yes, I do know this, and, the gentleman that offered to buy it from me knew this as well. But, what you don't understand is, my 5906 has been gone over, every cm of it, plus, bead blasted, by member BMCM. That's why he "thought" it was new. Theoretically, it is! What member BMCM did to it, people would line up for miles to have him work on their firearms!
Again, thanks to my friend, BMCM.

BMCM just refinished and reworked the slide of my 3913NL and to me it doubled the value of the weapon.
He is an old school craftsman and super guy as well. We should keep him our secret though. I urged him to get an FFL so I can send entire weapons to him. I would have loved to have him do his magic on the lower end of my NL as well.
He is the only guy I would trust to put tools to my Shorty Forty (serial number 0036) and I look forward to him tuning entire guns.

Let's face it... most of us have at least one 3rd Gen that we'd love to have BMCM fix, modify or improve in one way or another. We all wish we lived within some reasonable driving distance of BMCM if not in the very same town! Having a neighbor or friend like BMCM must be a beautiful thing. I'd trust him to work on anything I owned.
You and Disabled1 are very lucky indeed.

BMCM is what S&W probably could not afford to pay him for his God given talents to work on firearms.
