Default Model 52-1 Disassemble the slide

Need a little help on my 52, I have a problem with my ejector, it won't eject spent brass all the time. 1 out of the 5 rounds either stove pipe or won't even leave the barrel. I have tried new brass with different loads but still have problem. So trying to disassemble the ejector but can't find information anywhere and no parts available. I want to look at the spring for the ejector to determine whether or not the problem in there. If anyone could help I would be greatful.

Which model of 52 do you have? The Model 52 and 52-1 use the old style extractor which requires pressure on the middle in order to remove it. But before you do that, you have to remove the manual safety, firing pin and spring, Then you have to remove the rear adjustable sight in order to remove the ejector-depressor plunger and spring. This particular early extractor is prone to easily breaking, that is why S&W changed it with the Model 52-2. Take my advice and take it to your local gunsmith who knows S&W Model 52s. Taking this baby apart requires a strong rear sight remover which can only be used after you have taken the rear sight apart and removed the two hidden screws under the upper elevation part of the rear sight.
