Default Modified CS9 Grips

Just wanted to give my fellow 3rd Gen lovers a heads-up that I have a few sets of modified Delrin CS9 grips for sale in the Classifieds section here. Pictured below are a few of my latest sets, though I also have some 'prototypes' for sale as well.

Please private Message me if you can't find my sale ad, and please PM or post any questions you may have.

Not sure if this is something that I will do on a regular basis or not at this point, but there will be a few more in the near future at least. I will say that some breakthroughs have recently been made, and I'm getting some very tight fitting grips, as close to a mythical 'factory fit' as possible. Pictured below are what I'm calling my Gen 3 grips, what I will be offering in the future.

Thanks!

Where are all the fellows who have been clamoring for Xenoy CS9 "Big Dog" grips?

Big Dog Is out of business. This talented gent is making what we need and has a fine product. Im ordering myself a set. Lets support him!

Thanks TercGen!! Much appreciated! Regards 18DAI

Thank you very much for the kind words, and I appreciate the support, but in reality it's not the same era as Big Dog's day. There are some very nice-looking, affordable options with KSD currently, so I expect demand for modded Delrins will be effected. I'll test the waters here for a bit and see if there's going to be any interest, at the very least get a few of these grips to folks who are looking.

For those like me who like the slimness of the factory Delrins, I think you will really enjoy the fit of my 2nd and 3rd gen grips (same fit). These will be as close to a factory fit as possible, with an unaltered mag release cutout that is centered, and a nice, tight, flush fit to the rear of the frame.

I've added a small bit of length to the latest generation of these grips in the bottom rear, which I've found gives a noticeable difference in the grip stability, and helps with my tendency to shoot a bit low with Delrins on a CS9. I can easily make them flush in the rear for anyone who would like.

What you mention about adding a bit of length to the bottom is one of the reasons I think my CS9 is much more accurate with my modded Hogue 3913 grips, agree with you completely that just a little bit more length does seem to make a difference. I may have to try one of your grips in the future.

When I have funds I will get a set from you. A hint to get the Cs9 to point of aim happened with me switching the Factory Novak Sights to Trijicon Night Sights. Once I did this my CS9 is point of aim. I am also going to buy the Gen 2 CS9 grips from KDS because I fell in love with the way the wood looks

Thanks Cruiser RN, if all goes well there should be a few more sets of the black gen 3's coming up in the near future. The KSD grips are the best looking option for the CS9, and from pics I've seen they're even a little thinner than Hogue rubbers. Like I mentioned in your thread, if I was into wood grips, they would be who I would buy from.

I couldn't agree more on the Trijicon SA29's - both of my CS9's sport them and it does help get it up to POA. I still found that I was shooting a bit lower though, and had to concentrate on keeping the bottom rear of the grip steady with the palm of my hand. Even with grip tape, I had a tendency to let the gun 'dip' when the trigger broke if I didn't concentrate on it.

I added some length to the rear of my gen 3 grips in order to put a little more material underneath the pin hole, and was surprised at how much difference it made with the grip stability (at least for me and my hands). The few mm's of added length shouldn't be much of a compromise with conceal-ability.

I've bought the latest set. Great work and fit tight. I definitely prefer the modified Derlin over the original Hogue grips.

Default Thanks Everybody!

Well, it doesn't look like there's a whole lot of interest in these grips at the moment, and my grace period with the forum is ending; so, I will be officially shutting down sales here at the end of the week. I will run the ad in the classifieds through Nov 7th in case anybody still wanted a set, or to contact me to make an arrangement.

Thanks to everyone for your interest, and especially to the folks who purchased a set!

I received a set from TercGen and they look really nice. But, I haven't had a chance to put them on yet. He emailed very detailed instructions for installation. His communications was great. Hopefully, I'll be able to post pics this weekend.

Thanks Muzzleblast, and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions about installation. I hope you like the grips when you get them on!

Default New Old Stock grips

In case demand increases and you need more 3913 original factory grips to mod, there is a seller offering S&W 3913, 3914, 3953, 908, 908s new old stock grips on the big e auction site at an extremely reasonable price, $15 each.

Thanks for the heads up 0849! I saw the one you're talking about.

Getting good, undamaged grips to work with can be a challenge, but I have found that I prefer to work with brand New factory grips. I've had some New Old Stock grips that were bent or damaged, either from storage or shipping, and you can't always return them in an auction situation. Plus they usually have some dings on the outer portions.

Default TercGen is a craftsman!

I just got my Delrin custom CS9 grips in the mail from my friend TercGen. He is truly a gifted craftsman! PERFECT fit! Everything lines up and they went on easy.

Completely changes the little CS9 to a true deep concealment piece. Cant wait to shoot it with the new grips.

If you own a CS9 and dont beg TercGen to make you a pair of these, you will be missing out and kick yourself down the road. Great guy, excellent product, 18DAI approved!!

Thanks again TercGen and a Merry Christmas all!! Best regards, 18DAI

Thanks so much for the kind words buddy, and very glad you like the new grips! I couldn't agree more that they really change the feel of the gun, not to mention the looks!

Life has been keeping me away from the forums here lately, but I will be back and will be making some more grips in a few months. Whether I sell them here or on a popular auction site will be determined at that time.

Happy Holidays to all!

I dont wish to speak for TercGen, but I can tell you that the CS9 grips are not compatible with a CS45. Two different sets of grips for the two guns.

A 4516 OEM Delrin grip would need to be the "donor" to make a set for a CS45.

I do hope TercGen considers doing some CS45 grips. I will be in line for a pair if he does. I just won a CS45 off Gunbroker yesterday. So I will be needing a set. Regards 18DAI

18DAI is correct, the CS9 frame is smaller than the CS45 / CS40 frames (which are the same).

Unfortunately, I do not own either a CS45 or a CS40, so I cannot make grips for them at this time, but they are next on the list of 'guns to get.' If that does happen, I will also make grips for those models in the future, but likely not for a few months at least.

Here is a pic of my CS9. It is wearing TercGen grips, with a "Gripper" grip sleeve and has an early 3913TSW magazine in place.

It is atop a DeSantis Nemesis holster that is my favorite to use IWB. One slick little carry gun! Regards 18DAI

I have been a little behind on making these grips, but do still produce them from time to time. I know of one person in particular who has been waiting patiently for my first CS45 set of grips (which are just about finished - I swear!). I should have a few sets of CS9 grips ready in the next week or two as well.

Gary linked to a post that shows how one individual made some grips for his CS45, and it is possible to do yourself. It's a process of trial and error that can result in different degrees of a 'good' fit for the gun, and can result in wasted grips as well as a damaged pistol (depending on how you do it).

I charge a premium price for my grips because I've been through many mistakes and have found a process that produces grips with an excellent fit to the frame, as close to a 'factory fit' as possible. With all respect to those who paved the way for making these, I believe the CS9 grips that I make are the best-fitting modified Delrin grips that have ever been offered.

I'll second that. TercGens grips are as close to factory fit Delrins as you will ever get for CS series guns.

And worth every penny. The man is a craftsman. I am a satisfied customer. Regards 18DAI

TercGen,
Just sat down and put on your grips, took everybit of 4 minutes, easy and fits like factory, very nice work and am very pleased. So much thinner and concealable, vast improvement. Thanks!! You start making these for the CS45 and you could quit your day job for a while! A couple b4 and after pics...

Glad you like your new grips NDFRC, and thanks for the kind words! My modified Delrin grips really make a big difference with the thicker CS45/CS40, it's almost like a whole new gun. Hope you enjoy your CS45 with them!

The pictures scream "worth it!"

We'll see what experience says.
