Default 22A-1 Headed back to Smith

I bought a 22A-1 pistol a couple of months ago. Although it's a discontinued model, I got it NIB from a dealer.

I have really enjoyed shooting it in the short time I've had it, but now it's going back. While cleaning it today, I noticed a big "divot" has formed on the feed ramp. Also, one side of the slide is wearing a groove in the aluminum lower from cycling back and forth.

This gun doesn't seem to be very durable at all. Hope they can fix it, but I'm concerned, as it's been replaced by the Victory.

I have had a 22A for many years. I sent it back at one time because the slide stop lever was eating out part of the slide. They replaced the whole slide and lever no charge. It has been good since then but I understand that there was a recall on them. great shooter with a red dot sight.

Well, dropped it off at FedEx today. Sure hope S&W can fix it. I really enjoy shooting that gun.
