Default model 469 insight needed

I am looking for a smaller 9mm and stopped by our general store and there sits a 469 , nice condition , 2 mags and a good quality leather holster . Prices is $369. Never been much on buying used firearms and tend to keep what I buy so any insight as to problems to look for , trigger pull weight da and sa . Figure to replace all the springs in it right off if I buy it . Does it handle +P ammo for occasional use . Wanted to wait to find out a bit more about this pistol before giving it a close look over

I had one years ago and liked it - but, I never fired +P ammo - as it wasn't available 20+ years ago. There are lots of positives - compact, reliable, DA/SA and accepts 15-rd mags. The mag safety is a plus for me - but it may be a downside for you and others. That said, it isn't too difficult to remove but does require drifting the rear sight.

I have handled one locally (actually 669) locally in the last couple of years that (I think) had a broken trigger play spring. The trigger worked but it was "floppy" for the lack of a better term. Others more knowledgeable may weigh in - but I think that is a riveted spring and quite the trick to replace.

You may also want to pull the slide off and check for wear on the frame - some 469/6904/etc series pistols can chew up the frame, somewhat, if they haven't been properly lubed before firing. For the price - I think it would be a pretty good deal but, one last caution, the 12-rd mags are getting up into the $60 territory ...

Thanks 60 bucks a mag ?? Wow Those make Wilson 1911 mags cheap . I see it takes down like a 1911 with one extra lever to push down on reassembly compared to some 1911 80 series pistols . I was going to look the rails overs and take some snap caps .

Started off looking for another 3.24" 1911 9mm . My wife claimed my kimber 9mm ultra as hers !!! Thanks

I bought the S&W pistol but I got mixed up on the numbers . Its not a 469 but is a 669 # TBB30xx Looks to be in almost new condition. Not a mark on the metal work but some minor discoloration or freckling to the finish above the trigger on the right side on the frame . It passed the recall check but maybe its been home for some TLC . The trigger pull as far better than had hoped for with a DA pull averages 8lb 5oz , SA pull is a sweet 3lb 7oz average . Came with a nice lined safariland H86 holster and 2 mags . Gona see if I can get a few hundred rounds fired tomorrow and see how it likes my old reloads .
