Wish they'd bring back SA/DA
Put my 3913 back in service this week. With the new Trijicon sights and a better than average cleaning it shoots very well.
Also shot my Sig 224 which reminds me of the 6906 from a while back.

That's why I have 3rd Gen S&Ws - and even a SIG SP-2022 9mm. I LIKE TDA guns, which is the classic first shot double, all the rest single action. I love revolvers so it figures......

I hope you find what you like, but as for me, I hate DA/SA pistols. After I bought my 3953 in 1991 (?) I realized how much better a single/ same trigger pull, every time, was for me. I then got rid of all my DA/SA pistols.

If they even brought back the "value line" guns, that would be a big step up from what they currently produce. Regards 18DAI

Prefer traditional DA/SA
I recently got rid of my big name brand striker fired plastic pistols and now stay with only S&W 3rd gen pistols. I prefer having a safety / decocker with double action first shot and single action follow up shots, just my preference.

My only TDA pistol now is a 1993 Sig-P226 9mm. I shoot it very well, and it will probably follow me into the ground out of sentiment. Anyhow, I shoot other types of gun action better, mainly SA semi-autos and DA revolvers. I did like TDA very much on duty as it offered some sense of safety, no matter how nonexistent, from accidentally touching off the first round unintentionally in the unlikely (but possible) event that I were to get ahead of myself and touch the trigger. I was also very fond of my 1006, but I mostly fired that SA at targets at the range.
Anyhow, IHMO the 3rd Gen S&W TDA's were some of the best quality semi-autos ever cranked out. I miss my 1006 and often fancy getting a 4506 for pure fun and pride of ownership.

Agree 100% and maybe that's why I don't love the plastic autos.
Smith still makes the best revolver but I am leaning to Sig for higher capacity guns.
And my go to carry is my new M&P340.

I like the way my HK P30S V3 does it. Note the "S" and the "V3" in the model designation - you have lots of trigger/safety/hammer-drop options with HK. I am describing the P30 S V 3. It has a hammer drop, so you can carry it DA/SA. But it also has a safety, so you can carry it SA-only, cocked-n-locked. You're not forced to make the decision at purchase time, you can change your carry mode over time without buying a new gun if you want to do that. Everything is ambidexterous: The mag release, the safety, the slide stop and the hammer drop.
In DA/SA mode you just ignore the safety and leave it off. I guess you COULD put the safety on AND carry it DA/SA, but that's a bit overkill IMHO. But the pistol allows you to do that if you want to.
