Default Bodyguard Upgrades

Not sure if this is the right forum. I just picked up a Bodyguard .380. I put 150 rounds through it, only had one lite strike, and one dud!? I've shot my stepdads bodyguard with a trigger job done. He had it done at our LGS, so I don't know what brand it is. But it is better then stock. What trigger kits have people used, and how do you like them? Also, did you have more lite trigger strikes after doing the trigger job? I carry a Ruger LC9S daily and have 3000+ rounds through it and love it! But I want to have the Bodyguard as a good BUG gun. But also looking to get a little bit better trigger pull out of it, without sacrificing light strikes. Thanx in advance.

Default BG 380

Had nothing but problems on early model light strikes before and after trigger kit 3 times to SW repair. Sold gun brought new one it seems after 50 rounds to be ok.

What ammo are you using?

It looks like they have changed the kit since I installed mine, so I can not speak for this iteration, but I think that Galloway Precision has what you are looking for.
Santiago Short Stroke Trigger Kit for Bodyguard 380 and M&P 380 Pistols :: Bodyguard 380 Performance Parts :: Smith & Wesson(R) Performance :: Galloway Precision

I installed one of their earlier short stroke kits in my BG and really like it. I did not install it to fix light strikes, although the kit does have an increased hammer spring. I installed it to address the looooong trigger pull.

The best upgrade for the bodyguard is to trade it in for a Ruger LCP.

I've watched some videos on youtube. I'm gonna go with the Galloway trigger kit. Galloway makes some nice stuff. I've got a couple things from them on a couple of my other guns.

I would have gone with the LCP but its not a Massachusetts compliant gun.

My next thing is, sights. I don't really want to put night sights on it, but will if need be. I'd be happy with first painting the front sight white. What has anyone else used to paint sights?

Testor's Acrylic White model paint woks very well. It's a water base paint and cleans up easily.

If you paint the front sight, just paint the top! apply it with a toothpick. and if you choose to paint the rear sight as well, paint only the very rear-top and the first top segment of the rear. The sights are serrated and if you paint too much of them it looks terrible and they are very distracting when shooting!
I painted my rear sight, using a needle. Works Well!
Good luck!

Took my Bodyguard to the range last week and put some more rounds through it. Found that it does not like Browning Court ammo. Out of the 100 rounds of it I fired, about half required 2,3, and some even 4 trigger pulls to fire! Very frustrating. I switched to the Aguila ammo that I had with me. I shot 50 rounds of that without a single issue. Glad I only bought a couple hundred rounds of the Browning Court ammo.
