Default 539

I just acquired a model 539, in the 1981 serial range according to Supica, imported in Germany and proofed at the Munich proof house in 1982. Probably moved across the border recently. Seems to have been shot very little. Came just with a single mag and the original box.
I sold my Beretta 87 for it. I was hesitating between it, a slightly more used 439 with a better trigger pull and a brand new Beretta 92A1. Despite the sights sitting high, the long trigger travel and the heavy pull, I went for it for the grip, the balance, the looks and the vintage appeal (my other "modern" handguns are a 1979 model 19 and a 1975 Walther Manurhin PP). I haven't shot it yet, I hope I made the right choice.
I would appreciate advice for sourcing mags (overseas orders) and wood grips (beside Nill and Hogue ?).
I am thinking of a Austin style holster for range purpose.

The international export/import thing for gun parts is apparently a legal and costly pain in the behind. Brownell's does it and even caters to European customers. Numrich Gun Parts too... but their website still says that they have suspended international orders until sometime in the new year.

The parts you desire are readily available at just about every gun show that happens in the United States... but that doesn't do you any good unless there is some legal way for someone here to ship them to you.

Hopefully, someone who knows a whole lot more than me will pipe in.

Default 539 mag and trigger pull

Thank you TTSH. Do you know what the experience with the Numrich Gun Parts magazine has been ?
To all 39 fans: does the trigger pull improve over time ?

I have no personal experience with them to report, but numerous other forum members have reported them as "good to go"!
