Default 4566TSW Warts and all

I had to have it warts and all. Pistol is clean, original box, mags and that damn tool. FTF it was about what a M&P 45 would cost $500.

Worth repeating. Very good find. Any other comments notwithstanding, looks like a very nice third gen, and the lock variation, whether you find that a useful feature or not, can only potentially add collector value to your pistol as time goes on.

The lock is an oddity, no more. If it were mine, I'd see if I could remove the screw all together.

Does anyone else think it's unusual that two guns with that funky lock show up within a few days? Most of us had never even heard of that variation and here there are two.

I think the two guns are the same one.

You're right! Too many people buying ANIB 3rd Gens this week and I got confused.

Not that there really is such a thing as "too many people buying 3rd Gens" this week or any week.

I was following the other thread too. It's an interesting find, a bit of an oddity and certainly scarce. Glad you got to take it home and glad you shared it with us here.

It looks pretty much pristine in the photo. Congrats!

A 3rd Gen 45 for $500, that is a steal!

Oh please! That's not a wart! That's a historical curiosity that actually adds to the gun's collector value!

You want to see warts on a Model 4566TSW? I'll post a photo of one of mine... the "used and abused" one I got zinged on via fuzzy low-res photos on GB. Now, those are warts!

Recipe for success:

1. Remove the screw from the trigger guard completely and store it safely and securely with the tool in the original case.

2. Shoot the gun accurately and often. Keep clean.

3. Enjoy.

4. Watch the gun appreciate in value over the years due to the limited production run with the odd safety feature.

5. Enjoy some more.

LOL!

Did you sell real estate or used cars in a previous life?

I agree with you on # 2, 3, 4, and 5 but not # 1.
That would be like removing the grill on a 58 Edsel. You could fool some people into thing it's a regular 58 Ford, but hard core collectors would know better.
Leave it on!!! Show it off with pride.

Hey, I call 'em as I see 'em. You're just envious that you don't own a 3rd Gen with that unique safety feature!

I have to agree with TTSH, mine doesn't have that "wart" but it sure doesn't look as sweet as that one. Go shoot that pistol, you're going to love how soft it shoots.

Thanks for all the love on this gun guys. I found 2 old style metal follower metal floor plate mags at the show this weekend $10 each. Dug my 645 out of the safe and swapped those for two newer style mags to go with the 4566 so I'll have 4 magazines to test it with. Life is good.

I, for one, think this is a pretty cool gun. I have often wondered what the heck the Saf-T-Hammer contraption looked like. Now I know!

I'd shoot the heck out of it, but I'd never trust it to carry. I don't trust locks. I own several guns with locks and although they have never malfunctioned, I don't trust it. I'm not going to say there is concrete evidence to support my thoughts. In my opinion the evidence out there is only anecdotal.

Still, awesome from a collectibility standpoint. Great price too.
