Default 5904 Frankensmith

I have made some posts concerning a 5904 I had acquired back in October.

Long story, but the original slide became a non-option. So I set out on Gunbroker and Ebay trying to find a replacement slide. A complete crapshoot, but I ended up with the slide that currently sits on the pistol (see pics).

I am curious as to which model this slide originally went on. It has a single side safety/decocker, and came with plastic rear/metal front sight(s).

Nonetheless, I detail stripped the slide and proceeded to fit the new sights (Trijicon SA07) and remove the mag disconnect safety.

I will test fire tomorrow.

Cheers.

It was probably on one of their value line pistols. They did those with plastic slights, one side safety and a matte finish. I don't recall the model numbers but they had several models. Should work just fine.

Since the slide is cut for a Novak rear sight, it appears that you have a 5904 slide that has had a single sided safety installed. My initial thought was a 915 slide but it would have been cut for a blade rear sight. Neither would have come from the factory with a metal front/plastic rear sight combination.

The Model 910 came with dovetail plastic rear sights and single side safety/decocker.
My guess is the slide from a 910

^^^^^^
910 was my first guess also. Had one years ago, long since gone, don't remember ever having any problems with it, it was also in their value line.
