Default Another Model 46 Story

A few weeks ago Hognfrog reported here about his newly acquired model 46. Member Tom Beckwith quickly warned him of the dangers of HV ammo in that model and I seconded that warning with the tale of the cracked rails on my 46 slide. A slide that has been utterly unavailable decades (I stopped looking in the 80's).

A few days later, much to my complete surprise and extreme delight there was a PM on this site from that same Tom Beckwith. "Do you still need a slide?"

"Well yes, sorta!"

So now I too have a "new" S&W model 46 and Tom Beckwith is my hero. Is this a great place?

Ed

Many times over the years Thom has come to many members rescue with parts including myself. He has always been a real gentleman to deal with and extremely honest as well. Its been a pleasure to do business with him. Thank You 5-Shot for bringing this up on here.

Haha, all you guys are fantastic. A secondary reward: how about all you guys get a NEW President?!

Oops, sorry Barrie. But I must think it won't hurt your position anyway.

Sadly, Photobucket is refusing to play nicely with my ancient Mac. I'll research other methods on loading a picture and see what I can do to comply.

As requested, here's a photo...I hope. This is my first effort at this type of picture posting.

If the old 46 looks dirty, that's because we were just in the back yard playing.

Even the original grips on it. Nice catch. Strickly CCI-SV ammo in it only for a longer life with no cracking on the slide lip. HP ammo will hurt it for sure over time.
