If you call the store and have them order it, they won't charge you shipping. That's what my local store does at least.

My local GM in Warrington PA has several 5946s in the case, all had noticeable carry wear on the frame edges, but looked mechanically serviceable.

I bought two 6946s from Gander Mountain right before Christmas for $270 ea. on sale. They refunded the shipping because the ad said it was free. Both guns are NPD marked and had beat up Hogue finger groove grips. Replace the grips with factory's (don't like finger grooves), put new std. recoil springs and Wolff 18lb reduced hammer springs. Polished both up with Mother's mag polish. Turned out real nice. Got some 59 series mags with spacers. The insides were in real good shape. Sweet shooters. Will be wearing them at the gun shop I will be working for real soon.
These two were in decent shape. I saw another one at a local store for $300 that it is more beat up. I think they vary a little in their condition. You probably will get what they send you from the stock pile unless you buy one at your local store. I ordered 2 of them with no choice as to which ones. Still very glad I did it. Excellent reliable guns; all our 3rd gens are.

I bought my 6946 "N.P.D." trade-in from a Gander Mtn. store. It was cosmetically a little better than some of the other "N.P.D." guns I've seen and is functioning flawlessly.

I bought one from them a few weeks back. At that time their website showed 2 grades. $299 and $349
At that time they were running $30 off all guns so I bought the more expensive

Are they priced like Rolex? I was in that store one time! I thought I stepped back in time to the post Sandy Hook great firearms panic! And that was their grand opening sales event!!!! I had this feeling that if they were going to charge those prices there should at least be a masked gunman at the door so that I get the full experience of being robbed

I also picked up a 6946 at Gander Mtn. with NPD stamped in several spots. Shots great, little wear. Great gun for the price.

I bought mine from a friend who got it from gander mountain... the guys at our store are really good at what they do, my friend ended up getting it for $260... he carried it and didn't like the weight, he sold it to me for $280... I love it, still don't know if I would carry it or not(I'm gonna try). It shoots very easy and I am pretty accurate with it also... it kind of makes me want to get more 3rd generation variations. There is a tons of guns to choose from... so I am not gonna say it's the "best", but for a cheap price I am having a blast with it.
