Default 659 Sear pin question

Hi, I just acquired a 659 which had an issue with the metal stop that the slide release lever pushed against. I took the grip off and noticed that the search pin is sunk flush against the grip and it's protruding a bit on the other side. So can I tap this back out with out disassembling anything? I ask as the sear pin on my 745 is loose enough to be moved with my fingers while this one can't be moved with just my fingers. Thx!

Sure, you should be able to move it back out. Perhaps some old lubricant has frozen the pin in place.

It may have moved because it was in backwards. There is a small slot at one end of the pin to hold the sideplate fork.

Thanks! Didn't take much force to get that pin to scoot over a bit. The pin was in correct orientation so not sure how that came off. Guess I need to go shoot it to see if that clip will come off again. Thanks again for the help, and here's the new addition with the big Kids.

I replaced the sear release lever on my 659 and the decocker works fine, take it apart and clean it good
You have to push it down to reassemble it anyway

That's a handsome wood stock showing on your 745, can you tell us more about it?

See my post #37 in the linked thread for some thoughts on sear pins and seating them in the sideplate prongs(legs).

New acquisition-5906 (I broke it already)
