Default S&W 40SD VE

I purchased a S&W 40SD VE about 6 months ago. I took it out a few times and shot it and it didn't seem very accurate. This past weekend I took it out again and shot 50 rounds through it and was consistently 8" inches low and 2-3" to the left at 25 feet (I'm left handed, and my kitchen is 25' across). I had my two brothers, who are both right handed, shoot the same gun, and they produced pretty much the same result, at the same distance.

I've read several articles about the 40SD - just looking for feedback at this point to see if people truly think it's the gun or the person behind it. I shoot a S&W 9mm standard & Shield, and have no problems at the same distance. If it's possibly the gun, I'm assuming there is a need for different sights or trigger work or replacement.

Again, looking for suggestions. Thank you.
