Default LE trades and night sights 4053

I have read in other threads that Trijicon will relamp the sights on LE guns for a reduced price. Am I correct on that? If so do the guns have to be LE marked to qualify? I have a 4053 that isn't LE marked but it's box states "LE Program". Not sure what that means but the product code is different than those listed in the SCSW. I assume it is no more than a number assigned a certain order from whatever LE agency it went to.

I would love to have my 6946 and 4053 relamped so any experience or knowledge is appreciated. Off to the Trijicon website I go!

I believe that they will re-lamp any Trijicon sight.
It doesn't have to be a LE gun. I haven't had to do this yet, but that's my understanding.
I suggest you give them a call for specifics.

They will relamp sights for about $60 or so (LE or non-LE), I had a Sig done last year. Contact Trijicon for work order number and send in the slide only, and it comes back in a few weeks.

Assuming Trijicon is able to stay in business for the long term, this is what gives it extra value over competitor's sights which can't be relamped.

You may wish to consider contacting them and identifying yourself as MIL/LE. Many times these type companies extend a discount.

When they do, I thank them and say that I look upon it as a "courtesy", not an "entitlement".

The re-lamp charge is $57, which saves $68 over the cost of just buying new sights, which is a good deal or not, depending on how you look at it.

Sending the slide in adds some shipping cost (and you need to insure it for the price of a replacement pistol, as if it goes missing you're screwed). It also means a few weeks without your pistol, and I'm not sure what happens if it disappears on the way back.

On the other hand, installation is free. If you buy a replacement set of sights, you either need to pay $25-$50 for installation, or you need to have a sight pusher to do it yourself. If you cannot install a new sight yourself, it's a super deal.

It won't get you a discount but it can get you pushed further up in the repair line if you send a copy of your MIL/LE ID.
