Default What do the numbers on 3rd Gen sears represent?

What dimension do the numbers that on 3rd Gen pistol sear represent? How would the assembler at the S&W factory decide which sear to select when fitting a pistol? How is a sear selected by an armorer when repairing a pistol?

Thanks, I had that in my notes. I'd like to have the SA trigger be further forward from the rear of the frame than what I have with an unmarked sear. Another pistol I have has a #6 sear and the trigger is more forward and easier to shoot for my reach.

After reading the link and not wanting to necro post. Does it make a difference in trigger pull weight, and if so what would be the range?

A NOS late model drawbar and unmarked sear moved the trigger forward 1/8" in single action. Not perfect but much better. DA is fine and no push-off in SA per my Fastbolt notes. Next will be checking live with 2 rounds loaded like a 1911 after action work for safe function.

Neither pistol mentioned above has MIM parts.
