Well, today I noticed I had gun oil seeping from under one of my grips. I guess I used a little too much, so I removed the right side grip and wiped away the excess oil. When I was installing the first screw back into the grip, the head snapped off leaving the exposed threads. The screw was only finger tight so I removed the threaded portion of the screw with my fingers.
( Lucky me).
Anyone else experience this ?

I've opened a ticket with S&W support, hopefully they will examine these screws as they are shallow at the base of the screw and this hollow area extends into the shaft of the screw. This is the area that receives all the torq when tightening.

No. That's scary. Must be cutting their costs a little too close. I did get a new take down screw from their customer service so hopefully they will replace the screw for you.

I called S&W and they do not have any replacement screws at this time. They will send some out when they become available. Can you believe this ______ ? I don't believe they have any replacement parts. No one I know on any forums or FB has ever received any user replaceable parts or any other parts. I may to have to reassess my life long devotion to the S&W brand.

I also snapped the head off one of the grip screws while tightening. Very thin metal.
