Port the 3913
Just curious if anyone has ever had their 3913 or 3913TSW ported by Mag-na-port or similar company?

Yes, totally agree, but my warped, S&W centered, agent orange contaminated mind just can not help but wonder about possible mods, no matter how egregious to competent pistol designers.

Porting a 9mm is silly to me.

LOL...... ported a 3" 65 in the mid-80s...... with .+P.38s just more flash and bang...... w/ .357s some improvement but still wish I hadn't done it.
Have several 3913/14/NLs........ front night sight and Hogue Wood checkered grips..............................

Just curious, did you have Mag-na-port do the work, or another company?

Yes.................it's was all the rage back then ...... written up in the gun rags.
Now on a 6-8 inch hunting handgun shooting 100% full bore magnums ....... I see porting in a different light....... but with a 3" mostly +P .38s not so much!.....9mm no way.

Porting has proven to work, but be realistic. It works better the more force you are dealing with. 44 magnums 460 and 500 S&W mags are great examples of use to help keep the muzzle down. Race guns that have to meet certain power requirements use it gain every advantage they can, but even then, it's part of a package which can also involve slide lightening, skeletonized parts, trigger work, red dot sights and any other thing that might give the shooter the slightest advantage. Don't fall for the "So and so did it so it must be good" hype that is found in all sports or professional themes. Even S&W has succumbed to this craziness - look at the early Model 41's that had an attachment on the end of the barrel, which later proved to be a disadvantage. Come on, a compensator on a .22?
Leave your 39 unmolested. If there was a valid reason, like you were considering entering competition shooting, get a gun more suited for that specific sport. Otherwise, don't fix what isn't broken.

I had a 2.75in .44mag MagnaPorted. It made rapid-ish DA with full power ammo barely sorta possible. ( Yes, that constitutes a significant reduction in muzzle flip.)
On a 3913 or similar, can't see much point.

I am not advocating for porting or not porting a 9, just a question that arose, and however, it is interesting that S&W provides a ported version of the 9mm Shield, any thoughts on that?
