4516-1 sideplate assembly compatibility
I am looking to stock up on some replacement parts for my 4516-1 while they are still available. Does anyone know if the sideplate assembly for the 4506 is compatible with the 4516-1? I see a sideplate assembly for the 4506 available on Numrich, but am unable to find one mentioned as compatible with the 4516-1 in stock anywhere. If the parts are not the same, does anyone know of where I may be able to find a replacement sideplate assembly for my 4516-1?

My parts book lists the sideplate (4506/4516) as the same part number.....10860.

According to the S&W parts list, the 4516 sideplate is #108600000. The later version 4506 (R1) has the same number while the early 4506 version is #106990000.

Any idea what the difference is between the 106990000 and the 108600000? I see the 106990000 listed for sale in several places, but am having a hard time finding the 108600000.

You might give Numrich a call. They have the sideplate for the 4506. I believe OEM part# 10860 is the one you need. Numrich doesn't list the S&W part number in their parts listings. The one listed below may be the correct one, but you'll have to confirm by phone.

Here's some additional info on the "R1" revision, in terms of the sideplate #'s........
What's up with the 3rd Gen sideplate assembly?
