New To Me: 4566TSW
Scored a very clean 4566 TSW. Not one scratch on it or any wear spots!
Shoots like a dream. Shot 185 grain RN handloads. Then some 230 RN handloads and then some 200 grain LSWCs handloads and it ate them all up.
Got some great tight groups!
Glad I have several 4506 mags. This 4566 balances better in my hand than my larger 4506.
The trigger on the TSW is noticeably smoother than on my now TSW Smiths.
Here's a pix - sorry not great with money shots!

Great find! Glad you like it.
Does that SN# start with "BOX", I can't see it clearly?

Some folks refer to them as boat anchors, but I find them to be quite handy and soft shooting. Mine carries well in a wide double loop IWB. It is a Kentucky State Police decocker only model. Really nice gun IMO.

I thought the same thing. It's BDX.

Mine is a 4513 TSW, DA/SA and I love it. Bought it new, not fired much. They are great carry guns. Mine stays beside the bed.

I have one and am well pleased with the way it shoots. Not a 1911 trigger, but it still rivals some of my better 1911's in the accuracy department. People think of them as tanks, but in reality they are about the size of a Commander.

Guess What?
The Dawson Precision S&W 5906 Fiber Optic Front Sights fit the 4566 dovetail!
.160" tall by .125" wide for the front with fixed Novaks rears.
Dawson Precision S&W 5906 Fiber Optic Front Sights - Dawson Precision, Inc.
But you must perform a good amount of metal removal on both sides of the dovetail with a gunsmith's triangular file. Just take it slow and test. File and test. And repeat dozens of times.
Mine shoots POA out to 20 yards.

The 4566 Tactical was my second duty issue pistol; upgrade from our 4006s. Ours had the bobbed hammers though.
I was pleased with the upgrade despite losing three rounds.
I still have my 4006 but wasn't able to score the 4566. Wish I had it too. Great .45.

I just got my 4586 DAO back from Tritium for re-lamping. Brand new bright night sights for $57. Double action only is smoother and shorter pull than my S&W revolvers.
Commander sized boat anchor (45.3 oz) compared to my 457 (34.1 oz) but very well balanced and surprisingly comfortable and concealable if you can carry the weight. Not too burdensome if you have a good holster.
Best kept on the nightstand though, with so many better choices for constant carry. But nothing shoots better and softer in .45 or .40.
