SW SW22 Victory Extractor Install
After about 2,500 rounds, the extractor on my Victory SW22 decided to "depart".
The plunger and spring were still there but could not find the extractor pawl. So I just ordered one from Volquartsen Custom.
While it seems straight forward; since the user manual does not cover disassembly/reassembly of extractor; does anyone know if there are any gotcha's or tricks to re-install the new extractor pawl??
Thanks. Prefer not to screw it up.

Don't bother calling S&W, the Volquartsen extractor is better than the one used by S&W. You already ordered the part from Volquartsen, use it! I did.

Hello all,
I purchased my .22 Victory yesterday and went to the range this morning. After only 9 rounds of Winchester 40 grain, I had a problem. Looked down at the table and found my plunger spring and extractor laying there.
I took it back to the store I purchased it from and they are sending it back for repairs. I really wanted to like this gun. Hopefully my feelings will change, when it returns and hopefully works.
This is my first S&W buy and I am not happy.

I actually while cleaning my Victory took out the extractor to clean. Forgot to keep finger over the plunger and spring. It shot out and lost both spring and plunger. Contacted SW and they sent me new ones right away. A plus for SW backup. Installing is relatively simple. Use a small Allen wrench to hold back the plunger and spring and without letting go drop the extractor in. Key thing to this is don't let go of spring or plunger till extractor is completely seated.

You did well compared to my experience. I brought my 22 Victory home from the gun show, swabbed the barrel and fired a round into my bullet catcher in the shop. The extractor and all springs disappeared in all the junk in my shop. Called S&W, they emailed prepaid mailing label and I had it back in 2-3 weeks. Your experience is quite common....apparently the assembler missed something in training class.
You could also call Volquartsen and they would help you over the phone.

Ok you guys are scaring me. Just got my new Victory yesterday. Test fired about 200 rounds of mixed (5 brands) ammo without any hick-up. I was very impressed and thinking I was in the clear. Thinking now, I'll order a spare Volquartsen or TK to keep as a spare.

Its wise to have a spare specially if its a much better made part as well. Overall the Victory has held up quite well for its price bracket and has good reviews on the trigger and accuracy also.
