Default Story of my life.

I'd been keeping my eyes open for a concealed carry .45, in particular, a 4516, for about a year and finally spotted and couldn't pass up a 4566 about a month ago. I love it, but it's a boat.
So today I'm in NE Ohio looking for mags and spotted a good shape 4516 for $395, at Atwells in Painsville, with no discretionary cash for another purchase.

To make things worse, I stopped at another shop and they had a mint 4513 for $440. Well, maybe little Jimmy doesn't need braces after all. Still thinking about that one so the shop will not be disclosed.
I guess I'll have to be happy carrying my 3913 for the time being.

IMHO If you spend more time working and less time looking your luck may change LOL.

Jimmy doesn't look THAT bad. He's a good looking kid. Just tell him to smile with his mouth closed.

Let little Jimmy get a Job and buy his own teeth or braces or anything else he needs. You need both of these handguns.

Talking Bought it!

Well, the wife didn't object when I talked with her, so I went back today and bought it. I almost died when I walked in and another customer was looking at it. He thought and debated, like I did yesterday and I stayed away, but within ear shot, cringing and kicking myself for not getting there 5 minutes earlier, until he declined to purchase. Recognizing me from the day before, the clerk immediately handed it to me, and the deal was done, although at a slightly higher price than I thought, but with four magazines.

I'll post some pics when I'm back home and have a camera.
You guys know I was kidding about Jimmy.

Put Jimmy in the Army in a few years - they will fix up those teeth for him! On a serious note, I have a 4516 and have never even seen a picture of a 4513. The 4516 is a boat anchor weight-wise - the 4513 must be pretty slick ...

Found another 4516-1 in my own (magazine hunting) travels today. Tags says $500 and it's a consignment gun so who knows what the owner might take (or if he might stand firm)? It's not in perfect "as-new" shape (comes with two magazines, no box) but all stainless 3rd Gens do clean up pretty nice.

Do I need another 4516-1 when there are so many other 3rd Gen models that I still don't own?

That's the $500 question!

Lol. I wish more stores here in WI had layaway for guns. When I lived in Louisiana I always had multiple guns laid away at multiple stores.

That was the 4513 I bought. Sorry for not being clear in my original post.

Congrats on the 4513! $440 is a very good buy. Especially if your 4513 is the early version with the 6-round mag.

Now dont say anything to the wife and go put the 4516 in layaway.

My favorite carry gun is an early 4513. Enjoy yours! Regards 18DAI

Thanks everyone for all the congrats. Turns out it was $449, $485 out the door. It is the 6 round mag version, born December 8, 1999. It looks almost unfired. Slight skid marks on one follower and a just a faint slide stop lever arc mark on the slide. No hammer hit mark on the frame. Came with correct blue case and 4 mags.
I'm tickled pink, but I've got to stop going into gun stores. Two .45s this year alone. I'm afraid it is a disease.
Still out of town, but will post pics Friday. I'm letting you NE Ohio guys go after the 4516 at Atwells.
By the way Silverado Arms in Mentor has a good looking 459 if anyone collects 2nd. Gens.

I think that pistol you have may already be the best? There's been more reseach and development on the 9mm bullet in the past few years than any bullet in history. The result is a number of manufacturers producing rounds in this caliber to making it
a fine choice for a number of purposes.
I had one of the original Model 39 (No dashes or other numbers) and it was a fantastic carry as a detective.
That said, there wasn't the bullets offered today in 9mm.
G'luck in your quest.
