Default Issue with 4566

I snagged a 4566 a while back for a pretty good price. I haven't shot it much, only 50 rounds so far. It seems to operate just fine so far. However, there is an audible and tactile click when pulling the trigger. It occurs about halfway through the takeup in single action only, never in double action. I read somewhere around here recently that it was indicative of a problem, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it is or what thread I read it in. Any ideas?

Well, nevermind. I followed a link in the "Similar Threads" at the bottom of the page and found both the problem and the solution. The gun is already fixed and packed up for a range day tomorrow. Thanks anyway.

When I read the title of your post, I thought, "I bet I know what the issue is."

Many of us have had the same thing. Glad you were able to suss out the solution on your own.

Enjoy your 4566 -- it's one of the best Third Gen production guns out there.

Yes, I too experienced the infamous click on my 4506. But thanks to this forum I was able to quickly resolve the issue. My click was caused by overzealous cleaning with a toothbrush.
