Default Muzzle brake for model 41 (7 3/8" barrel)

Hi everyone. I know this is a long shot, but is there any chance of finding a muzzle brake for the 7 3/8" barrel? I inherited my fathers 41 with 2 barrels - complete in original box. According to him it came with a muzzle brake for the original barrel, but that got lost over time.

I would really like to get this gun back to it's original configuration, but after some searching I have realized that not many of the original muzzle brakes are still around, and none are for sale as far as I can see.

I'll post pictures of the whole setup as I have it now if there is any interest for it.

Watch eBay and Gun Broker as they come up for sale there quite regularly. In fact, there's one on eBay right now.

There are two variations of the break available. Earlier 41's had a break which measured approx 1 9/16" and most of the later 41's have a break which will measure approx 1 3/8" . The change over occurred in the early 60's. Not sure how "Correct" you want the muzzle break to be for your 41, but something else to consider when looking for a replacement. There were exceptions of later guns sold with the 1 9/16" break but most had the shorter version.

Good Luck, be ready to pay $100+ for a muzzle break in decent condition.

strange, I must be using horrible search terms, because I have no luck in finding that one. would you mind linking the item - or is that against the forum rules? (sorry - new here)

Gunbroker auction number 675914389.
It's expensive though.
