Default Victory 22

I just cleaned my new Victory 22 for the first time. Very straight forward easy disassembly (2 screws) and the Barrel, Receiver and Bolt come apart. I cleaned everything and applied a very light coat of oil and put back together. The pistol shoots fine but the bolt does not stay open after the last shot. I did not remove the grips or take the frame apart, just passed a cleaning cloth through the magazine opening. Can anyone tell me why the bolt no longer stays open after the last shot?

I have never experienced this in my Victory and I have hundreds and hundreds of rounds through it. I actually shot 100 rounds out of it last evening after work at some steel targets. One thing I did have is I recently purchased an extra magazine and in the first 10 rounds through this mag I had 2 failure to extracts. After that I ran 10 rounds through it 3 more times without incident. That's the first two failures I've ever had and I attribute it to breaking in the new magazine.

If I were you I'd look at ammo or maybe something along those lines.

Thanks for the reply Robert
I don't think it is the ammo because I'm using the same stuff I used before this happened. I have six mags and they all seem to work fine.
Before I cleaned the gun I was having some failed to feed and stove piping issues but that cleared up as soon as I cleaned the gun.
Everything seems to be working except the bolt doesn't hold open on last shot.

If it persists I would call S&W, they have some of the best service in the industry form what I've read. I've never had to use it, knock on wood, but they seem to handle returns rather well. Good Luck!!! I love my Victory, it's a sweet shooter.

Maybe you're accidentally riding the slide, perhaps? I know on some pistols, if your thumbs rides the slide it might not stay open on the last round. This hasn't happened to me on my Victory, but it's worth inspecting. Good luck.

Interesting. I've got 2,000 rounds through it with no problems. I do clean it after every session however.
