Smile Good Karma - Free to a Nice Home

Need a good home for a blued manual ambidextrous safety that I have been told is for a 469, 669, 6904, 6906. Free, my only stipulations being:
1. If you do not have an actual need for it, please be kind enough to think of our other forum members that can use it.
2. Pass on some good Karma to another member when you have an opportunity.

I bought this on the big auction site last year when I was frantically looking for ambi safeties for my 3913TSW (I know, should have known it would not fit, let the beatings commence) and was pretty much buying up everything in sight, put a good dent in my charge card for a while

First to say he/she needs it gets it.

Very Cool Captain! You got it, talk about Good Karma going around, I get to give it to the fellow who so generously previously gave me a rail for my TSW!

I will get it out in the mail to you tomorrow!

Very cool happenings!

But I did not realize that a 3913TSW thumb decocker and a (all those listed above) do not freely swap! Just for the knowledge base, what gives? Is a TSW decocker somehow different?

Yes, evidently the 3913/3914(and the TSW variants of those) series safety is compatible with the 5906 type pistols but not the 469 type, the way the right side lever attaches is also different between the 3913 series and the 469 type. The 3913TSW and 3914TSW variants do use the same safety as the 3913/3914, I believe, but the compatibility does not extend to the 469/669 types. Maybe one of the other forum members that knows more can explain the differences better.

Popping this back to the top in hopes that someone can tell more. While I have pulled the safety/hammer block out of 1-2-3 Gens, I have only swapped them in and out of 2nd Gen pistols and admit that I have never attempted to try and swap a 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen between pistols.

Certainly, there were three different methods of retaining the right side paddle on the ambi safeties... the first was the UGLY philip's head screw, next was the far better looking hex-head screw and finally, the eventual design that we are most familiar with on all the 3rd Gens that easily looks and works the best.

Even still, I don't know where the part conflict is between them. And in fact, I think we have some things a bit confused in the entirety of this thread because if it crosses successfully from 3913 to TSW 3913, then it simply must also work for a 6906. The 469/669 and 6906 are basically the 2nd and 3rd Generations of the "same" model.

If there is a conflict between 1st Gen 39/59 and all 2nd/3rd Gens, that would make -MUCH- more sense because the 2nd Gens added a firing pin lock lever to the frame which likely needs a slot milled in the underside of the hammer block to clear it.

Perhaps that is where the compatibility confusion lies? It seems most likely to me.

Not arguing here, really just seeking the knowledge!

Here's some part differences between 1st generation 3/59 and 3rd generation 3913.

The 3rd generation parts(from 3913LS slide) are on the left while the right side are from a 59.

Sorry RicWiseman, I already sent it off to Captain TMD. Hopefully/maybe someone else on the forum will read this thread and has one to spare.

While the tenor of the messaging sounds as if you solved your need, did you?

Later.
