Default 645 and 745 grip Interchange ?

I have a 745 with the factory wood grips, was there ever any rubber (Pac's or Hogue) made for this pistol ?
Will the Pacyhmar grips for a 645 fit on the 745 ? My main concern is the large safety lever on the 745, will it clear, if not, could the grips be modified to fit ?
The factory wood grips are great, but I prefer the rubber grips for the range, my 745 is not a safe queen, it gets used !

I've used Pachmyars on my 745 but they did require a little work to clear the safety. It wouldn't be bad but they are medal backed and needed to be ground down to fit. I did end up using wood Hogues that needed a little trim also.

Exactly. If you watch the big auction site you can often find Pachmayr grips on 745's and if you have decent pictures and you look closely, you will ALWAYS see that they are carefully modified and indeed, it requires more than a careful trim with a razor because you definitely must cut through metal for the thumb lever to clear.

It may be worth noting that you can definitely install the Pachmayr grip (unmodified) and the pistol functions properly and safely EXCEPT that you may not use the hammer block safety at all.

I'm sure that the very idea have some quaking in their boots, but anyway...

Personally, I absolutely love the Pachmayr grip on the 745. In my opinion, it is the best choice ever for that pistol. (and the 745 is a phenomenal pistol, totally love the two I have!)
