Some background on it... it wasn't a "regular" PC gun in that it never made it as a cataloged PC item.
It has a PCZ serial number prefix, which is used for prototype and/or experimental guns.
From the info I have on it, there were only 12 made, 4 of them were distributed by Lew Horton, mine was verified by LH as one of those 4.
The 4006 IDPA was going to be the companion to the 5906 IDPA, but .40 S&W was not well received by IDPA shooters due to the slower return to target time with it's snappier recoil compared to the 9mm, so the gun was a conceptual failure and didn't move into production... the majority of IDPA is shot with 9mm or .45 acp semi-autos.
A 5906 IDPA recently came up for sale on an online classfied listing website for firearms... I may get it to go along with my 4006 IDPA.
