The slide on the right is defiantly an M39. You can tell from the "lolly-pop" rear sight. I can't tell what the one on the left is.

Slide on left appears to be a late 3rd gen model 915.

The slides on my 639 and 659 are identical and interchangeable and methinks they are on the earlier models.

The 39 and 59 use the same slide.

The slide on the right is not from a "Model 39"....It could be from a Model 39-2 or a Model 59 .
Also, not all 1st gen slides will fit both the Model 39-2 and Model 59 due to the spacing of the safety lever.

The one on the left is 3rd gen

Larry,

Slide on right likely for a Model 39-2 and will fit a Model 59, all 1st gen.
Most of the run of the Model 39 slides wont work on a 39-2,
Some later (end of run) Model 39 slides might work on the early 39-2s and v/v although not recommended.

Slide on left with dovetail sights front & rear is a 3rd gen, e.g. 5904 or 3904 and a bunch of like models. Also, for some reason there are a few 3rd gens with a 3 digit model number .e.g 915 which is a budget model 5904.

3rd gen slide won't work on a 39-2 or 59. The barrel and bushings on a 3rd gen are also different design.
