Is there a factory 10MM in the SW1911?
I'm working on a deal with a guy who has a "SW1911" in 10mm. I can't seem to find any info on that. Any input guys?
Thanks

I have never heard of any SW 1911 being chambered in 10mm.

No, but many wish it were so.

I would say that given the small amount of evidence presented, the most likely guess is that the seller simply isn't much familiar with semiauto pistols or handguns in general and looks at a stainless, large frame pistol and simply figures "must be a 1911" regardless of what the pistol may actually be.
If that is indeed the case, then odds are he has a 1006 pistol. Smith & Wesson made a run of six different models of 10mm chambered pistols in the early 90's and the 1006 was the most prevalent of the six models.
These are fantastic handguns, much loved and trade well.

If the seller is ignorant of what it is, the asking price may be well below street value on a 10XX. Would be worth a looksie. Did the seller send you any pics?

I know a guy who works for the company who wishes they made a SW1911 in 10mm.
Some time back he said there was some work being done on a .40 version, but the continuing low sales numbers reported for commercially loaded 10mm ammo supposedly didn't really justify the R&D for a 10mm in either the SW1911 or the M&P lines. He said he'd be the first in line for a SW1911 10mm (and there are still some 10mm shooters working there, but apparently not enough to sway attention from the hot-selling models and calibers for which they can't keep up with the existing demand).
