Default S&W 1911 Sc question

In shooting my "Billboard 1911 Sc in a match yesterday, I noticed that my magazines are not dropping free. They eject partially but do not drop free. I have to TAKE the magazine out. Not very condusive to a speedy reload.

I use Mec-Gars, Chip McCormick Shooting stars, Kimbers, Novaks and the problem is the same so I do not believe that it is a magazine problem....

Any help is appreciated............

Randy

Perhaps the magazine release just needs cleaned?

I did clean it and also checked to see if any of the grip bushings were binding which they don't seem to be. Problem is still there....

All of these magazines work flawlessly in all of my other 1911's ...

Did you completely disassemble the mag release?
