Default Considering sale of PPC-9

Would prefer to offer it here first, but I'm having trouble nailing-down a fair price. 6", ANIB, with all hang-tags, etc. Box is the aluminum attache style, not the plastic one.
I just setup a search/notification on Gunbroker, but, they trade so seldomly, it could be a long wait.

Does anyone here have an online subscription to Blue Book of Gun Values, if that gun is even listed? The print edition is obsolete before it's even distributed...

When Tom Campbell was still there, I was an agency guest of his for a factory tour, and wrote-out a check (over lunch in exec. dining room) before I left, for a 5" (sold years ago) and a 6". He pledged to walk them through the PC and personally test them. 50 rounds fired, then a safe-queen. This not yet an offer to sell, and when it comes to that, will be posted in Classifieds...just trying to get an idea of fair value at this point. I'm not trolling for offers, and frankly, don't know if I can part with it, even though I don't shoot it.

Well, we talked a bit about this via PM, and you have already hit upon a big point -- these simply are not traded often, especially the "even more rare than rare" 6-inch long slide variant. That makes this difficult to accurately price.

Searching Gunbroker is also of very limited help, what formerly seemed to be a good database is now no longer for auctions seem to evaporate within two months or less.

The closest thing that you can compare this to is 6-inch long slide 952-2, and in the same condition that you describe, the similar 952-2 6-inch is a roughly $4,000 handgun at this time. Dead mint, NIB with outer shipping carton and end label has actually sold for over $6,500 but that was just over two years ago.

Contacting the folks I suggested would most likely bring the highest sales price, but they take a fee.

If you sell it yourself on the classifieds here on this forum, I believe that $4,000 is a fine price to ask.

Please do understand that there simply does not exist the "RIGHT" answer, it's just not possible to have an established market when these almost never appear available for sale.

What a fun pistol. I feel the value listed above is high. I shoot these in competition and have never seen one at that price.

If you decide to sell in the classified here, start with at the high point of $6,500. Reduce the price by $500 every couple of weeks until it sells.

- oh, and we need pictures!

I will respectfully disagree. If you have actually seen them offered for sale (definitely the 5" also!) and the price is significantly lower, you might seriously consider chasing one or more because the value is high.

Also please consider that the PPC-9 was never offered for retail sale and only to LE so the bulk of these guns were purchased and used, some heavily, so a nearly dead-mint and "all original" kit is a significant price upgrade in a collector market.

If you can find -any- PPC-9 in any configuration and with any amount of wear for under two grand, that's likely a simple one-day sell in our forum classifieds here.
