Default 3rd gen grips

I have a beautiful set of grips here that don't quite my 3rd gens well. It is not a frame issue. My 5903, 5906(2), and new to me 915 all have the same problem with these grips. Anyone know how to fix this?

Either you don't have them seated right, or they're warped. Can't even tell what they're made of or what brand,. Tell us more.

In my experience, the 3rd gen grips all have a set of small "tabs" on the front edge that have to seat/tuck in to the front of the opening on the mag well of the frame. If those tabs are not tucked into that frame opening then what you displayed in your picture is what typically happens.

These are factory grips and the tabs look intact. I just can't get this particular set to sit nicely on any of my frames. If these were readily available I'd just buy another set but noone seems to be able to get the straight grips anymore.

They're warped. Either from the factory or from sitting somewhere in storage. I bought a set for my pre rail 3913TSW from Numrich a few years ago that did the same thing. By the time I needed to use them, the return period had long passed, so I just tossed them.

I bought two sets at the time and the other was fine, it was just the one.

I don't know of a way to fix it other than maybe putting them in boiling water for a couple of minutes in hopes of softening them. Then, while they are still pliable put them on the gun and hope they set properly.

I haven't tried that, so I don't know if it would work.

THERE IS NOT MUCH TO LOOSE FRIEND. IF THEY ARE SEATED PROPERLY BUT STILL THEY BULGE LIKE IN THE PHOTOS, I WOULD DEFINATELY TRY THE BOILING WATER, OR A HEAT GUN (WITH CAUTION,) AND THEN, SET THEM LIGHTLY SQUIZED IN A VISE OR SOME CLAMPS, SO THEY COOL IN THE SHAPE NEEDED. WITH THE SCARCITY OF 3RD GEN GRIPS, I WOULD GIVE THEM A SHOT BEFORE TOSSING THEM.
