Default Help needed : Model 39 safety/decocker

I was cleaning my Model 39 (#838xx) this morning after a trip to the range & I noticed that the safety/decocker lever seemed loose & I was able to move it above horizontal in the "fire" position (no longer parallel to the slide in "fire" position, but "above" parallel. The safety/decocker seems to still work (I tested it with an empty magazine), but the safety/decocker lever is sloppy and seems loose.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Probably the spring/plunger is loaded with accumulated dirt ( powder fouling, dust, etc)
A real good cleaning will probably cure this.
( I had similar with my pre 39 serial #13xx).

Thanks so much Tired Gunsmith; I'm soaking the safety/decocker end of the slide in Hoppes #9 overnight, I will check it in the morning.
