Model 457 Magazines, are they made of gold?
I just spent the last few minutes perusing ebay for a couple of new magazines and holy ****!
$150.00 for two? $90.00 for one?
Did I miss something?
I did find a couple of 8 round 4516 mags for $25 each so all was not lost.

4516 mags will work in your 457......but all my 4516 mags are 7 round... ....are you sure those 8 rounders aren't for a full size like a 4506??

Those magazines will fit the 457, 4516, and railed 4513TSW guns, so there is some demand. Ebay prices tend to be higher than the norm. I've had better luck here on the forums, and on a couple of other forums.
On Ebay, patience is the key. Even 3913 magazines come along at times with decent prices.

Try pricing an FBI 15 round 1076 magazine. Last one I bought was $275 shipped with insurance. And NO, that's not the most I've paid for a 15 round 1076 magazine. Then there are the FBI 11 round 1076 magazines. Seems they are rarer than the 15 round. Found one online about two months ago. Seller and I finally met somewhere near the middle and I mailed him a USPS MO for $425.00.

Recently Midway has been having one day specials on S&W new magazines. I have purchased both 457 and 3913 magazines for $25 each and shipping of 4 for about $5 buck.

457 is classified as 3rd gen value line compact 7rd. Won't all 7 & 8rd mags function ? even the 4516-1 mags with yellow followers ?

Yes. I have a few mixed in with my 457 magazines. They work fine.
