S&W 52 Masters Kit
I have been looking for an S&W 52 Masters Kit. I am aware of one on another site, but it looks mostly open and fairly expensive. In my experience the ones pictured are individually wrapped parts and look very neat and organized in the (labeled) box. Would appreciate input about these kits - am I correct in packing; are there kits for the 52/52-1 and for the 52-2? Any input on these kits appreciated. Any suggested sources appreciated also.

I have never heard of not seen evidence of any such kit and really look forward to hearing any more on this subject. Are we talking about something packaged up by S&W for retail or warranty "service centers" or something of that nature? Very interesting.

These kits contain all parts except the frame. To my knowledge, probably available to public but directed to smiths for rebuilds. Comes in a box with end label marked as noted. I missed one or two here on the S-W site.

You see these come up every now and then on auction sites. Nice to have if you are a collector, but if I had one I would be afraid I would rob parts from it to fix stuff. These can be VERY pricey though.

There were 2 FS recently on the Bullseye Forum . One was complete & the other had some parts missing . Both were " pricey " . Considering they rare , especially a complete one with a new unfitted barrel / bushing I guess whatever the market will bear . Since I recently sold my last 52 I only had a passing interest . Needless to say they didn't last long .

I saw one in Charlotte , if I am correct it belonged to member 45wheegun or possibly being consigned by handejector.

Thanks Tom for the insight on this as I never knew the Model 52 Masters Kit even existed.

S&W Model 52 Master Parts Kit
For the benefit of the Forum members who have never seen one, here is a Model 52 Master Parts Kit. The wrapped parts above the box are the magazine, stocks, mainspring housing.

The above pictured parts kit sold for $700. The box appears to be a standard S&W 2 piece box of the time period. I've never seen one, so I can't help with what the box label looks like. The pic is from another web site and is not mine. Maybe Tom Beckwith can chime in with what the box label looks like.
