Does anyone know if there was a 4506 special run / limited edition made for the USMC with their emblem engraved/stamped in the slide, or was this just a personalized engraved firearm for a Marine?

I have not heard of or seen a factory engraved 4506 for a military commemorative; it may have been done by an outside company (one of these often advertises in the American Rifleman) or it was done as a single gun. Easy to laser engrave one of these if you have the pattern.

I think I know the pair you're referring to, and I also believe it was a personal engraving rather than a special factory run.
