1 of 10 Lew Horton Model 41?
So I have acquired this piece recently and wondered if anyone could put a value on this for me? I have a good idea via Roy Jinks, that it was 1 of 10 special ordered by Lew Horton in '98. That this particular model was Hand Fabricated and not a line take off that has been "smoothed" out and refined. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

If we knew the serial no's of it that would help quite a bit. To me its a M41 with Factory Stocks and 73/8" barrel. Nice shape. My guess is around $1400. with box and tools but if its from the 1st or 2nd year issues the price should go up. Looks to be in great shape.

That serial is correct, manufacture date is 7/98. I have never seen another with this style performance center engravings. And have confirmed it is 1 of 10 made. So wouldnt the rarity add to the value? This model number is listed in the Blue Book of gun values as being 1 of 10, with no estimated value given. I believe it is a pretty special piece. Didn't know what it would be worth to the right S&W collector?
If I were to insure this, what should I insure it for?

I think that it's the kind of thing that only an auction would provide a value.Anything else would be just guessing, who knows what the "right guy" for it would pay unless he happens to speak up here (and he can't,except in a PM)unless someone knows what others have sold for.
Myself, I've owned several 41s,several PC guns, but that large name on the right side would turn me off, just as the billboard lettering on the first 952 no dash guns did.(When the 952-1 came out,I grabbed one)Great stuff speaks for itself. No promoting is necessary.

Compared to other Performance Center 41s, I much prefer this engraving over the laser engraved "billboard" on the newer models. Classier look I guess.
I'm not looking to get rid of it at all, it is the smoothest 41 I've ever held/ shot.
I'd like to know if there is someone else in the community has one, or knows of another out there.

It must be an early 1998 gun as I purchased my first 41 in July of that year, and the serial numbers were already into the U prefix zone.I see yours starts with a T.
( I really didn't know about the various sights used on these guns, but I'm happy with the fact that mine is a revolver sight gun)
