Aren't these KSD pre-rail 3913tsw grips?
I think KSD sent me the wrong grip for my CS9 because I had
asked about the grip GaryS had wanted. I was surprised he
hadn't heard back from them after sending them Delrin's for
an example, and they said, "yes, ready".
So I think I got a pre-rail 3913tsw grip, instead of a CS9.
They are sending me the correct grip, and I guess I'll return
the wrong one.

It looks in the picture that the grip pin is in the original location.
As if no separate spring holder cup is needed.
Do these grips have the spring holder cup built in?

That's interesting, and a bit disconcerting. I never heard from them that the grips were ready to be shipped.
I'm considering reaching out to them to see what's up.

Looks like cup "holder"and new pin is included. I never looked at
anything right away. Started thinking about it today though.
I can cut my 908 frame to fit, (not the best idea.)
I can send them back, I'll never find a pre-rail.
Gary can part with his pre-rail and send it to me. since I have
"his" grips anyway. (I think this is the best solution.)

Well Lemme see here... What if Gary gits the CS9 grips and since 4T5GUY has already got them 3919 whatchamacallit grips.. Maybe a road trip is in order where you fellers could do a swap.
Cheyenne seems like a good meetin' place and I'd even buy the coffee.

Part with my 3913TSW! OTOH, PM me if you want to discuss a deal for the grips.

But it wouldn't be lonely.
I'd take care of it, feed it, take it for walks.
I was going to P.M. you anyway, just thought I'd have some fun
first !!!!
I'll have the grips till I get my CS9 ones, no rush.

Yes, but my rail 3913TSW and pre rail 3953TSW pine away for it. Besides, it sits so nicely on my hip. As it is now.

Wouldn't the cs9 grips fit the 3913 pre-rail?
I mean, they clearly have the curved backstrap (unlike the standard 3913tsw grips) but aren't the grip frames pretty much the same?

No. The TSW has that little bit of grip that juts out below the rest of the grip and the CS9 doesn't. On the CS9, the magazine doesn't sit flush as it does with the TSW. That's why the pre rail TSW has a sort of wedge shaped magazine bottom plate.

Interesting. I think I read somewhere (probably on this forum) that they took the same magazines (minus the baseplates) so I just kind of assumed the grips were interchangeable.
When I had my pre-rail 3913TSW I actually contacted KSG about a grip for a CS9 (since I had seen pics of their grips on a CS9), assuming it would fit my gun. Whoops
Never heard back from them anyway.

They do take the same magazine. S&W put more engineering thought into the TSW, so it had the uniquely shaped grips and a bottom plate the filled in some space. The CS9 used the same bottom plates as the regular 3913. The TSW could use the same bottom plate, but I never thought it looked proper.
I've bought some new in package magazines that were tagged as 3913TSW, but had the regular 3913 bottom plates. It seemed that when shipped new, one magazine had the special plate and one had the regular. However, when I bought that ANIB pre rail 3953TSW, both magazines came with the special bottom plate.
I've given up assuming anything about S&W 3rd Gen guns. Just when I think I've figured something out, someone here pops up with a new gun that proves me wrong. I think there were a good number of one off or salesman's sample guns that never made it into a catalog and aren't documented well. If they are documented at all. Up until the 4th Edition of the SCSW, the 3914DAO was thought to be a 3913DAO and there was never any mention of a 3914TSW, let alone that there was at least one manufactured in 2012.
