6906 police trade in make over
A couple of weeks ago I picked up a 6906 police trade in. It was in typical police trade in condition with scuffs and worn anodized aluminum. I immediately bead blasted the slide and then took a few days to determine what I wanted to do with the frame. I settled on Brownells oven cure Gun-Kote in matte brushed stainless. Between the price and self satisfaction, I am well pleased. The first pic is after the bead blast of the slide and the others are the final product.

That looks sweet! You ought to start a side business of redoing police trade-ins. It's not like you would be hurting for business, as many as there are out there. How did you talk your wife into letting you use the stove? My wife would hang me by the short ones if I tried that. Again, looks awesome!

Yes, i did the gun-kote. Its in an aerosol can, so its easy. Clean and degrease the pary to be painted. I blasted it with aluminum oxide to rough it up. Degrease again and again. Warm it up to about 100 degrees. Put one coat of paint and let dry 30 minutes. Put a second coat on and let dry another 30 minutes. Bake at 325 degrees for an hour.
Yes, the answer is a toaster oven outside or in the garage
