Default S&W Magazines not catching

Hello fellow 41 enthusiasts, I thought I found the perfect set- up. Factory frame with Clark barrel. I just can't get the magazines to stay latched with 10rds With the slide locked open, the mags bounce back and won't stay latched with 10rds. Better with fewer rounds. I have just started experiencing this and I wonder if it's a senior moment or what? Kinda bashful to ask for help. I just can't figure it out. Almost all of the mags are new factory from Midway. Thanks

I am no expert on the 41 having never even held one, but maybe the mag lock or spring have an issue? Welcome to the forum.

Make sure you have the correct factory magazine. Some of the newer mags in the older 41/46 act odd. Never has such a problem with a 41/46 but I prefer the older stamped steel figure 8 follower mags,.
