Default My Ideal S&W 645

I think the S&W 645 would be the perfect handgun for me if it had only one thing changes. It is a total shame the 645 didn't come factory standard with a double stacked magazine of say 14 -16 rounds. I like big handguns and it would have been a perfect fit for my hand.

I'll add in Novak style sights (or at least any modern sights), ambidextrous safety lever, palm swell grips

A double stack 645 might be just the ticket for some, but it sure wouldn't work for me. My hands are just not large enough. But I sure do love my 4506, just as it is.

I own the ultimate 645. It has the 4506 safety levers, so the right one does NOT go missing because the screw came out. GARY

A double-stack wouldn't work for me, either. It would be too heavy.

I'm not one of these people who feel that a .45 ACP has more stopping power than a 9mm. If I need more ammo, I have my 659, which is my favorite auto period! The 645 also is astounding, and it's the only auto I've ever seen that will feed empty, sized cases into the chamber!

Amazing.

The weight and balance are phenomenal and Smith really knocked it out of the park. I love it!

The reason I would like to see the 645 with a double stack IS the size. I have large hands and the compact versions of some handguns, I can't hold because the grip is just too small. I really like large handguns. My carry is a full size CZ75 with a 17 rd. magazine. To me, is a very comfortable hand gun to hold.
