The letter prefix doesn't mean anything. It's just a serial# and nothing else. Your serial# dates to about 1988.

I would estimate the birthdate of that 52 to be around 1990, very late in the run of the model. The TCV serial prefix doesn't have a specific meaning, and yours should have the small-font "Smith & Wesson" as well as the four lines of information on the left side of the slide.
It's been said in a factory letter by Roy Jinks that finishing the very last of the 52's was actually the first "job" tackled by the newly formed Performance Center crew. Jinks also said it was the experience gained on these Model 52's by these craftsmen that led them to build the very first of the PC 952 pistols, the first of which was the "no dash" Billboard exclusive to Banger's Distributors.
These three-alpha prefix Model 52's may arguably be slightly less sought after than the A-prefix pistols that came before them, but it's been my very genuine experience that these pistols are absolutely every bit as amazing as any 52's that preceded them.
