Default S&W #659 Rear sight

Pro/con, Which rear sight is most sought after, Fixed or Adjustable with "protective ears". ?? Does this change the value of the pistol depending on which rear sight. ?? Does it matter which is best, or just personal preference.. Best: George K.

I would say it is a 50/50 split and personal preference. Of the ones I owned, I don't think I have ever adjusted the sight.

Thanx for your input... Good to know.. Do the different sights change the value of the pistol, or desirability. Is one worth more than the other if the condition of the pistol is the same..
Thanx again: Best: George K.

IMO while the adjustable site version is more versatile they seem to bring slightly less than the fixed site version (dovetail drift adjustable).
Same with the square trigger guards people seem to prefer the older round style.

I was more of a 2nd gen fan when the 3rd gens first appeared mainly because of the ugly one piece Delrin grip, nowadays I prefer the 3rd gen because of its dovetailed front and rear Novak 3 dot sites,

On a side note although they are ugly the Delrin grip does have a few advantages, Since the metal backstrap is eliminated no worry of sweat attacking the metal there also dont have to worry about the older 4 slotted panel mounting screws used on the 2nd gens loosing up when shooting.
