Default Date on Model 41

I was on this forum as I just found a 7" model 41 at a local pawn shop and I always wanted one. No box or papers, and one mag.
It seems clean with just one spot on the finish. it was really dirty, but after cleaning, it shoots great. Any idea as to date of manufacture? Serial A6338XX

Pictures are attached (not great, still learning with new phone)...I paid $750...is that OK? I don't plan to sell...just wondering.
Thanks!

Most likely an early 1980 vintage. Pretty good price - IMO.

It actually may be a 7-3/8th" barrel on it as well. You did well on the price of it and I bet it likes CCI SV ammo the most of all.

Very nice catch. I have one and it is a fantastic shooter. As Barrie pointed out, give the CCI SV ammo a try, you'll like it.

It's a 7". A 7-3/8" would have the 3/8" barrel extension sticking out the end to attach the muzzle brake to.

Thanks guys....what I had on hand was CCI Standard Velocity, and yes it functioned well. I also have some CCI mini-mag, would that hurt a '41'??
